The Wendell Town Board approved a special-use permit (SUP25-04) allowing Reset Retro Arcade to include a bar, tavern and nightclub use at an existing building at 32 North Main Street.
Planning staff and the town attorney described the evidentiary hearing procedure for quasi-judicial matters, and staff reviewed SUP criteria and recommended that, if the board were to approve the permit, it include conditions requiring that all applicable building permits, laws and codes be obtained and maintained and that the applicant obtain a temporary-use permit for any use of public space during construction. A planner also noted the property complies with downtown-core standards (no church or school within the required buffers) and that the applicant held the required neighborhood meeting.
Applicant representatives described the business as a retro arcade featuring classic games with a full bar. "We're planning on kind of running everything out that side door and keeping it out of the way of the main street," an applicant said when asked about construction staging. The applicants also said they plan to serve beer, wine and cocktails.
The board incorporated two additional conditions into the approval (building permits and public-space permit/coordination with town staff). The motion to approve passed on a voice vote with members answering "Aye."
