Board honors Thomas Worthington girls field hockey team after third straight state title

The Worthington Board of Education paused its regular business to recognize the Thomas Worthington High School girls field hockey team after the program won the state championship for a third consecutive season.
"You are part of an amazing team that has twice won the state championship 3 times in a row," President Nikki Hudson told the athletes at the dais, praising them as scholar-athletes and inviting team members, assistant coaches and the team manager to introduce themselves.
Several students and assistant coaches spoke briefly about what they appreciated about the program: Katie Thompson (assistant coach) said her favorite part of the season was coming to practice each day; Adeline Albert identified herself as the senior team manager and thanked the team family; students from multiple grades (freshmen through seniors) shared what they were grateful for and how the team formed lasting bonds.
The board presented certificates to the team as a small token of appreciation and invited the group to be photographed before the meeting moved on to the visitor comment and policy sections.
