Tibbetts and Coldwater Community Center report busy programming and preservation work

Representatives from Tibbetts and the Coldwater Community Center updated the Downtown Development Authority on staffing, programming, and preservation projects.
Christine, speaking for Tibbetts, said the venue is at full employment and introduced two new staff members: Melanie Metzger as audience services event planner and Elizabeth Brewitt on the marketing team. She outlined upcoming events including a noon-club Playlist performance, community theater productions, an Oscar-short-film screening, and plans for Tibbets Summer Theatre; she asked community members to consider housing visiting cast members.
Kathy from the Coldwater Community Center presented a partner-commissioned painting and shared a letter about the building’s restoration. Kathy said the next project is reconstruction of a damaged first-floor stairway (contractor to strip and revarnish spindles and rebuild the first landing) and said the group hopes to complete that work by March. She also requested more vendors for the Cultural Jubilee set for May 16 and described recent collaborations, including an immigration-focused "We the People" series and a library murder-mystery event.
Both presenters thanked volunteers and local sponsors and fielded brief questions from the board.
