The Coldwater Downtown Development Authority voted to adopt a shorter mission statement and directed staff to pursue a bylaws amendment to formalize the change.
Director Kristen told the board the subcommittee condensed the existing language and proposed the tagline: "fostering meaningful partnerships, economic growth, and community pride in Downtown Coldwater." She said the revision aims to make the statement easier to remember and suitable for marketing and business-card use.
Board members discussed procedural steps for incorporating the change into the DDA bylaws and noted the city attorney, Amanda, has been consulted about required updates. A motion to propose the mission statement as an amendment to the bylaws was made, seconded, and approved by voice vote with no members recorded in opposition.
The change will follow the DDA's bylaw amendment process before taking effect. No fiscal changes or programmatic actions were tied to the mission edit during the meeting.
