Board approves agenda, minutes and adjourns after public comment

During the public-comment portion, Alan Drake proposed a low-cost pilot to distribute black mangrove seeds to commercial fishermen to stabilize shoreline, create nurseries for fish and provide additional surface friction against hurricane winds; he asked CPRA to include a pilot in the 2029 master plan. Suzanne Mayfield Krieger, chair of the Saint Tammany Levee Drainage and Conservation District, thanked the board and congressional delegation for work securing a $3,500,000 PED appropriation for the local risk reduction project and urged rapid implementation with Corps coordination.
No formal votes on project funding or policy changes occurred during public comment; the board scheduled a vote on the annual plan at its March meeting.
