The Parks, Recreation and Conservancy Committee approved its May 19, 2025 minutes and heard several staff updates at its July 21 meeting.
Speaker 4 moved to approve the minutes from May 19; the motion received a second and the committee voted 'Aye.' Staff provided updates on operations: Mike (Speaker 2) described an earlier staff injury at the pool and thanked managers and staff who covered duties while recovery was underway. He also reported that new pool pumps and filters are in place and that users have noted improved flow.
Speaker 2 noted a new playground installation (Glacier Ridge) that was completed the prior week and said the playground is already seeing heavy use. Speaker 1 promoted the 'Max Mission' fundraising event at Bear Park’s Large Diamond in August. The committee then moved on to development discussions (Marchstone and Scenic Valley), and ended the meeting with an adjournment vote.
Votes at a glance: approve minutes (motion carried); Marchstone Phase 1 motion to accept fees-in-lieu (motion carried); Scenic Valley planning guidance (motion carried); adjournment (motion carried).
