The Parks and Recreation Conservancy Committee voted to approve a revised 2025 facility-use agreement with the Cross Plains Stingrays swim team, adopting several scheduling amendments at its April 21 meeting.
The agreement now specifies stroke-clinic times on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:00 to 5:30 p.m., adds an evening meet on July 22, and confirms the Stingrays will rent the pool on July 29 and municipal shelters on June 1 and July 29. Speaker 5 moved the amendment and the committee approved it by voice vote; Speaker 3 announced the result as the motion carried (SEG 1155-1182).
Committee members discussed logistics before the vote, including public pool hours, lesson scheduling and lifeguard staffing needs for meets. Speaker 2 explained that public pool hours generally begin at 1:00 p.m., and that several lesson sessions were reconfigured this year to avoid conflicts with holiday dates (SEG 791-804). Members asked staff to confirm meet and invitation dates listed in the draft agreement before the village finalizes administrative details (SEG 707-776).
The committee also reviewed fees tied to large events and the additional lifeguard requirements those events trigger; Speaker 2 said rental fee tiers and lifeguard numbers are already set and that the committee could revisit fee levels in future budget discussions (SEG 964-975, SEG 981-991). The amendments approved by the committee were limited to scheduling and rental dates and do not change the fee schedule immediately.
Next steps: staff will finalize the facility-use agreement with the Stingrays and update any public-facing calendars. The committee recorded the approval in its minutes and will forward the final agreement to village administration for execution and record-keeping (SEG 1176-1182).
