One alderman urged posting a clear detour from Yadkin and Newton for drivers unfamiliar with town streets; Harris said staff will plan for additional volunteer traffic coordinators and detour information. Fire Department staff noted a GPS/traffic-app alert system that can broadcast closures to mapping services during emergency responses and suggested testing similar tools for the parade.
The motion to adopt the ordinance was moved and seconded during the meeting and carried unanimously.
