The Fulton City School District Board of Education voted to appoint Robin Griffin to fill a board vacancy, and administered her oath of office during the board meeting on Feb. 24.
The board moved a resolution citing Section 2502 of the New York Education Law to appoint a qualified person to fill the vacancy created by a resignation effective Jan. 27, 2026. The resolution named Robin Griffin as the appointee and specified her term will run until the next regularly scheduled election on May 19, 2026. The motion was moved by Nick and seconded by Laurie (as recorded in the meeting), and the board recorded the vote as passing 5–0–0.
At the meeting the oath was read aloud and Griffin responded, "I do so," when asked to pledge to support the U.S. and New York State constitutions and to faithfully discharge the duties of a Fulton City School District board member. The chair confirmed Griffin will begin voting immediately and will serve through the May election.
The appointment and temporary seating follow procedures called for in state education law when a board vacancy occurs, and the district clerk will record Griffin’s oath in official records. No contested election or further action was taken at the meeting.
