Vice Mayor Dan Henderson relayed Fire Chief Wilson's updates: recent call totals for November and December, status of apparatus (Marine 87 insurance resolved), training events and community outreach including the Seaford Christmas parade. The fire department will support the Santa parade on Dec. 17 and junior firefighter Floyd Moore is scheduled to graduate from the Delaware Fire Academy on Dec. 21.
Police Chief Craft summarized public‑safety statistics, noting total complaints have surpassed earlier records for some years, with increases in drug and traffic incidents and an elevated number of traffic citations and crashes. Chief Craft also described SLIF grant activity and department training efforts. Several schools and student winners in fire prevention contests were recognized by the council.
The council acknowledged staff efforts and wished residents a safe holiday season; no policy actions were taken on these liaison reports.
