County OKs vacating a 25‑foot portion of Shallowford Street after staff recommendation

Seminole County commissioners voted unanimously Aug. 26 to vacate the easterly 25 feet of Shallowford Street in the San Lando Springs replat (about 2,508 sq ft), subject to a 25‑foot drainage easement and with no objections from utilities or county departments.
Planning and Development Services planner Caitlin Apgar told the Board that applicant Bridal Clark requested abandonment of the easterly 25 feet of Shallowford Street in the San Lando Springs replat of Track 57. Apgar said the area to be vacated measures about 100.32 feet in length and roughly 2,508 square feet and that affected utilities had submitted letters of no objection.
Apgar said public works and parks and recreation had no objection, but public works required a 25‑foot wide drainage easement over the entirety of the area to be vacated. Staff advised the request complied with Seminole County Land Development Code section 35.184 and related authority in the county code.
The applicant was present and offered brief remarks. Following staff presentation and the absence of public opposition at the hearing, the Board moved, seconded and adopted a resolution to vacate and abandon the specified portion of Shallowford Street as described in the plat book cited in staff materials. The motion carried unanimously.
The county will record the appropriate resolution and maintain the drainage easement required by public works.
