POQUOSON, Va. — The Poquoson City Planning Commission on Sept. 15 reviewed proposed updates to the city’s comprehensive plan for the north side of Victory Boulevard, but took no regulatory action after residents and commissioners pressed staff for more environmental, traffic and intergovernmental analysis.
Chairwoman Schott opened the public meeting by stressing the proposed changes are guidance, not zoning. “It is not a zoning ordinance or any action taken tonight. The comprehensive plan is a plan for the physical development … It’s not regulatory,” she said. Staff said the PUD/mixed‑use overlay that previously allowed certain planned unit developments had already been removed by City Council earlier this year and that the draft guidance includes strengthened buffers and open‑space language for the corridor.
