Public Safety Administrator Charlie Pruitt presented Resolution 25March82R, saying the truck is a 2024 model priced at $537,888. He told the commission the vendor offered a $20,000 discount if the vehicle arrives in Lee County by March 31, and that the purchase package included travel and lodging for up to four people to travel to Florida for a one‑day inspection and a full pump test. Pruitt said the vehicle will serve as a reserve engine shared among county stations and will be equipped to improve ISO ratings and public safety capacity.
Commissioners moved and seconded the resolution and approved the purchase by roll-call vote. Pruitt said he and Chief Singleton — and up to two others if needed — will travel to inspect the unit; commissioners asked and were told the purchase includes inspection travel expenses. The county flagged the delivery deadline connected to the $20,000 discount.
Next steps: public safety staff will finalize inspection logistics, execute vendor paperwork and return with compliance documentation and a post‑inspection report.
