Commission confirms multiple board appointments, postpones several others

Lee County commissioners used the Jan. 16 meeting to confirm several board appointments, including new members of the county Fair Board and representatives to regional organizations.
The board agreed to approve Fair Board appointments submitted by individual commissioners (names presented during the meeting included Heath Combs, Alex Gallion, Jennifer Young, Amber Groves, Carl Johnston, Dustin Gasker and Cynthia Holly) and voted to confirm the nominees. Commissioners also approved confirmations for the Southeastern Regional Transportation Planning Organization and reappointments to the New Mexico County Insurance Authority pool and Economic Development District Council of Governments, with follow‑up alternates noted in the agenda.
Because several commissioners were not prepared to act on the full slate of appointments, the commission moved to postpone items H–J and L–Q (excluding item K—the Fair Board) until the next meeting so the board can complete and confirm pending nominations together. The motion to postpone and the individual approvals were recorded by roll call.
Commissioners thanked outgoing volunteers and welcomed newly appointed members.
