Commission approves commercial-barn electrical work, amends Open Meetings schedule and clears indigent claims including capped ambulance payment

Open Meetings amendment: County management presented a first amendment to the previously adopted Open Meetings resolution (Resolution 2026‑01). The amendment specifies that regular meetings in 2026 will start at 9 a.m. on the third Tuesday of each month and lists exceptions (selected dates in Feb., June, Nov., a special March 10 Zoom meeting to canvas the Clovis municipal election and two July meeting dates for end‑of‑year budget work). Commissioners discussed that special meetings would remain subject to the resolution language on Zoom and approved the amendment.
Indigent board and claims: The commission convened as the indigent board and approved several claims: La Casa (medical claim), La Costa Dental (six claims for five patients) and La Costa medical (single claim) at negotiated amounts; the board also approved an ambulance bill for a detainee transported to a higher-level care facility, approving payment at the county policy cap of $1,000 (Elite Medical agreed to accept $1,000 as payment in full).
All actions were approved on roll-call votes.
