Curry County approves applications for $4.12M construction and $696K maintenance from Transportation Project Fund

Public works staff presented Resolution 2026-09 to apply for 2027 TPF construction funds for County Road K (CRK) from mile marker 4 to 7, a widening and asphalt resurfacing project estimated at $4,122,293.34 with a county local match of $206,114.67. "With that, I would stand for any questions and ask for the commission to support this resolution and our application for construction for our this year," said staff representing the road program.
Commissioners also approved Resolution 2026-10 to apply for 2027 TPF maintenance funds totaling $696,446.41. Staff explained the maintenance funds would be used for chip seal, microseal and similar pavement preservation activities and that the 5% local match (about $34,822.32) could be provided as in-kind labor.
Both resolutions passed on roll-call votes after brief discussion; no commissioners raised substantive objections.
Next steps: staff will submit the applications to the TPF program and, if awards are made, return to the commission for contract approvals and to finalize local-match budgeting.
