At its Feb. 25 meeting the Hampstead Planning and Zoning Commission approved the concept site plan for a Wise Gas & Go at 721 Hanover Pike.
A representative for the applicant said Carroll County had already approved the concept plan and that a final plan was submitted in February. Town staff told the commission the plan was revised to add a valve to stop water flow to the facility in the event of a leak; the applicant confirmed that change was included in the resubmission.
Commissioners asked about timing and access. The applicant said it hopes to begin construction this year, targeting completion by the end of the year, and confirmed that access will come through the shopping center rather than directly from Route 30. The representative also said the project's stormwater management was submitted to the county.
A motion to approve the concept plan was moved, seconded and carried (ayes recorded); the commission approved the concept plan and the applicant thanked the board. The commission did not attach additional conditions on the concept approval at the meeting; final plan review and county approvals remain part of the permitting process.
