The Boone County recorder presented seven service agreements to digitize, redact, microfilm and store permanent records off-site. The agreements include CSI redaction and system support, CSI microfilm services, CSI premium software support, CSI disaster recovery services, US Imaging scanning/indexing and US Imaging annual microfilm storage.
Recorder Debbie Otterger said the projects will refurbish and scan older records, preserve permanent records off-site to protect against courthouse losses, and make historical deeds and other records searchable online. She stated the recorder’s office will use the perpetuation fund to pay for the services, not county general funds, and described how fee revenue supports the initiative.
Commissioners moved to approve all seven agreements in a single motion and recorded ayes; staff noted the ongoing work to make deed records available online and to conserve archival copies.
