College Place preservation commission elects officers; CLG grant work held pending federal funds

During officer elections, Commissioner Natalie Smith Gray was nominated and confirmed as chair for 2026 and Lindsay Sky was nominated and confirmed as vice chair; both nominations passed by voice vote with no recorded opposition. The commission then received a staff update that the city has been awarded a certified local government (CLG) grant to support a national-register district nomination but that the federal government has not yet released funds to the state coordinator (Michelle Thompson); until the funds are released, work funded by the grant is effectively on hold.
The meeting closed with scheduling: the commission's next meeting is set for Thursday, April 16, 2026, and members adjourned by voice vote.
