Commissioners authorize grants, approve warrant reports and place consent items on file

At the Feb. 23 meeting the Montcalm County Board of Commissioners authorized staff to complete and sign the fiscal year 2025 EMPG (Emergency Management Performance Grant) application, approved three warrant reports and placed routine consent items on file.
Vice Chairman Peterson introduced the EMPG item and noted Eric (in the audience) confirmed the grant is a standard annual request. The board moved to complete the application and authorized appropriate signatures for submission by the April 18 deadline.
Controller reported three warrant reports: 02/12/2026 for $539,970.19; 02/19/2026 for $240,188.34; and 02/23/2026 for $410,944.75 — a combined total of $1,191,103.28. The board moved to approve the warrant reports and the motion carried.
The board also moved to place consent agenda items 5 through 12 on file; that motion carried by voice vote. A brief correspondence item from St. Joseph County regarding repeal of PA 233 and PA 235 was noted but not discussed in detail.
