Summary
At the Feb. 19 meeting the board approved a slate of routine motions — minutes, bills list, transfers, calendar approvals (including two built‑in snow days for 2026–27), policy/regulation items, donations, certificated and non‑certificated personnel actions — and adjourned.
The Lacey Township Board of Education approved a series of routine agenda items at its Feb. 19 meeting following committee reports and public comment.
Motions carried by roll‑call vote included approval of meeting minutes and the bills list, budget transfers, finance and facilities items, tuition and transportation items, and the 2025–26 and 2026–27 calendars. Board discussion noted that the 2026–27 calendar includes two built‑in snow days (March 26 and May 28) that would be recalled as instructional days if used, an approach the board said is intended to reduce the chance of extending the school year into June.
Policy and regulation items were moved and approved, with one board member recorded as abstaining on one policy/regulation item. The board accepted donations (including a Booster Association donation reported near $10,000) and approved programs and curriculum items, professional days and travel, certificated personnel actions (E1–E14, with one abstention recorded on item E4), and non‑certificated personnel items (F1–F9). The finance committee also reported that motions for an RFP for a solar array and for an architect contract for a previously approved bond referendum are on the agenda and under attorney review.
A motion to convene an executive session earlier in the meeting to discuss confidential student, personnel and legal matters was made and approved; the presiding officer estimated that executive session would last approximately 60 minutes with reconvening at 7 p.m. The meeting concluded with a motion to adjourn.
The board did not adopt the district budget at the meeting; budget planning and workshops are ongoing and finance committee items (RFPs and referendum financing) will return for approval as required.
