FALMOUTH — The Select Board heard conceptual plans for a proposed 48,000‑square‑foot police station and agreed on steps to expand public engagement on site design and impacts.
Renshaw said the police station siting advisory committee presented site‑fit scenarios for the Augusta property at 101 Hundred Brickhill. He said architect Tekton is working to reduce the parking footprint and impervious surfaces and to create shared parking and access from State Route 28 to limit impacts. The town is also coordinating a separate lift‑station construction on the same site and is working to sequence construction activities.
The board emphasized community outreach. Renshaw said the plan includes multiple community meetings, a larger public meeting and a targeted meeting for abutters within 300–400 feet; the Select Board will mail notices to abutters. Muscally announced a public meeting to review plans at the library Hermann Room from 6:00 to about 8:00 p.m.
No final site approval or construction contract was authorized at the broadcast; the board and staff emphasized continuing community input and design refinement.
Renshaw credited Assistant Town Manager Johnson Stahl for organizing incremental presentations to the board and more active community engagement early in the design process.
