The Select Board appointed Hannah Vanderschuren to the Falmouth Housing Authority to fill a vacancy created by Jack Richardson’s resignation; Vanderschuren has served on the town’s workforce sustainability committee and works at WHOI. The appointment fills the seat until the upcoming May election.
The board also reviewed responses to RFPs for two town-owned parcels intended for affordable housing (21 Pheasant and 20 Brigantine). Housing coordinator Kim Fish led the review, and the Select Board authorized the town manager to notify Falmouth Housing Trust as the preferred proposer and direct staff and town counsel to draft a land-development agreement for the projects to proceed through planning and zoning.
Select Board members described the proposed projects as homeownership-focused models intended to help younger families attain more affordable ownership options. No construction approvals were granted at the meeting; land disposition and development remain subject to planning and zoning processes and future agreements.
