City staff explained the parcel resulted from a recent right-of-way abandonment and is a small triangular lot that staff consider uneconomical for city use. "This parcel is basically a remnant, leftover from the right of way abandonment... It is 4 one-hundredths of an acre. It's a small triangular parcel," a staff member explained during the public hearing, recommending conveyance to the adjacent owner who requested it.
Council opened a public hearing, received no public opposition, closed the hearing, and moved to approve the resolution. A roll call vote recorded affirmative votes and the conveyance passed. The resolution in the packet described the legal description and terms; the mayor moved to approve and staff were authorized to execute the conveyance as presented.
The council did not attach additional covenants or conditions during the meeting. The city attorney and staff will complete the closing paperwork and record the conveyance per the resolution.
