Summary
The Michigan House adopted House Resolution 250 recognizing Feb. 22–28, 2026 as School‑Based Health Care Awareness Week and praising more than 300 school‑based health centers for providing primary and mental health services to students across Michigan.
The Michigan House on Feb. 24 adopted House Resolution 250 declaring Feb. 22 through Feb. 28, 2026 as School‑Based Health Care Awareness Week in Michigan.
Representative Roth, who introduced the resolution, said school‑based health centers have been "a lifeline for students," providing primary care, mental health support and preventive services in schools statewide. "With more than 300 centers across Michigan, they serve students in every county of the state," Roth said, adding that better attendance and stronger academic outcomes have followed from student access to health services.
The resolution recognizes nurses, clinicians and counselors who staff those centers and urges continued support for services that connect students to care. The House adopted the resolution by voice vote.
The resolution is ceremonial in nature and does not itself allocate funding; the House's action recognizes the role of school‑based providers and elevates the issue for policymakers and community stakeholders.
