The Michigan House on Feb. 24 advanced a broad slate of legislation to third reading and recorded final passage for several bills across topics from natural resources and public health to insurance.
The House passed House Bill 5210, an amendment to the Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Act, by a 106–1 recorded vote. Later in the day, the chamber recorded unanimous final passage of House Bill 4932 (107–0) and House Bill 4934 (107–0), both amending the public health code. The House also approved House Bills 5298 and 5299 (insurance code amendments) on recorded votes of 67–40; immediate effect motions were moved and ordered for several of the measures.
Several bills were advanced to third reading earlier in the session after committee recommendations and adoption of committee substitutes. Committee chairs recommended substitutes for numerous bills, and the House adopted those substitutes where noted before advancing the measures. The clerk announced the availability of several bills electronically earlier in the week, and committee meeting dates were posted for subcommittees and boards.
House resolutions were also considered. House Resolution 249 was adopted by voice vote. Representative Roth introduced House Resolution 250, declaring Feb. 22–28, 2026 as School-Based Health Care Awareness Week; the House adopted that resolution by voice vote.
After completing the day's business the House introduced a large group of first‑reading bills that were referred to standing committees; these covered topics including zoning amendments, earned-wage access regulation, community violence prevention and multiple regulatory and tax changes. The House adjourned until Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2026 at 6 p.m.
