Fayetteville Memorial Park improvements deferred; CPC to fund traffic study and continue outreach

The Community Preservation Committee heard an update on proposed improvements at Harold (Faith Hill) Fayetteville Memorial Park and agreed to defer the article to the fall town meeting to allow additional design work, parking solutions and community outreach.
Kristen, speaking for recreation and the project team, said the plan aims to add a dog park and splash pad but acknowledged parking is a major community concern. She described steps to address the issue, including working with the police, the Select Board, the architecture firm Activitas and other stakeholders to identify additional parking options.
"We're going to remove the article from this town meeting and place it onto the fall town meeting to allow that extra few months to work through the concerns," Kristen said, and added the recreation department will fund a traffic study to clarify impacts and potential parking mitigations. Two public outreach sessions with the architects were scheduled for March 18 and March 31 to solicit more community input before a fall submission.
The committee endorsed the approach, asking staff to keep lines of communication open with neighbors and the Select Board while the design and traffic analysis proceed.
