Daughters of the American Revolution gift America250 Ohio flag to Mariemont

Sarah Harkermeier, chairperson of the America250 project for the Mariemont chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, presented an America250 Ohio flag as a gift to the Village of Mariemont and said the village is the chapter’s first community to receive the flag.
"My name is Sarah Harkermeier, and I am the chairperson for the America250 project that the Mariemont Daughters of the American Revolution chapter is doing," Harkermeier told council. She offered that the village could hang the flag indoors or fly it outside and suggested a photo with the mayor and the chapter.
Council members thanked the chapter, discussed where the flag might be displayed and took photographs with chapter members. The chapter said they will give flags to different communities throughout the region and that Mariemont is the first recipient.
Next steps: council accepted the gift and indicated staff would arrange suitable display and logistics with the DAR chapter.
