Franklin County school board approves 2026 mowing contracts, confirms Brookville redevelopment appointee and accepts personnel items

Superintendent recommended awarding mowing contracts for all three district sites to White Oak Lawn Care LLC and awarding landscaping/chemical services to Get Green. "I'm recommending White Oak Lawn Care LLC," the superintendent said during the meeting. Board members said the district solicited widespread interest — 13 mowing bids and one landscaping bid — and confirmed vendors will require background checks for on-campus staff. The board voted 6-0 to approve the contracts.
The board also voted to add a late agenda item recommended by a board member and then approved the recommendation to reappoint Kevin Kaiser to the Brookville Redevelopment Commission. The superintendent explained Kaiser "served in this role for two years" and recommended the board continue his service; the appointment was approved 6-0.

In continuing business, the board reviewed conflict-of-interest disclosures. Jessica Brennan disclosed a contractor (listed as Michael Brennan) who would receive a one-time stipend for coaching a fifth-grade girls' basketball team; the board accepted the disclosure, with the record showing five votes in favor, zero opposed and one abstention.
