During miscellaneous administrative remarks a Director thanked staff for stepping into roles during district adjustments and introduced the two new principals. The Director also welcomed Drew Benedict to the district as the boys basketball coach and data analyst.
Drew Benedict spoke briefly to the board after being introduced, thanking district leaders for the opportunity and saying he is from the area. "I'm extremely grateful. I'm extremely honored, and very excited to get started. ... Go Wildcats," Benedict said.
The Director also highlighted the district's recent participation at the Whitley County 4‑H fair, congratulated students who placed in shows, and announced a ribbon cutting for the new high school wing on Aug. 11 at 3:00 p.m. The district will hold an open house that day at 4:30 p.m. for early childhood ('little cats') and at 5:30 p.m. for the rest of the district. An anonymous donor also gave $500 to the Max Holloway Memorial Fund in support of the district welding program, the Director said. No public comment sign-ups were recorded for non‑agenda items.
