Board approves NEOLA policy updates on second reading

The district’s lead administrator said the NEOLA Volume 38, Number 1 updates “bring us in line with any new state laws or … policies that come from the Department of Ed or state government.” The administrator asked the board to take action to approve the second reading.
A board member moved to approve the second reading and the Chair seconded the motion. The Chair conducted a roll-call vote; the board recorded the motion as carried, 5–0.
Board members did not raise substantive amendments to the policies during the hearing. The administrator said the updates are procedural and intended to ensure district policy reflects recent statutory and regulatory changes.
The board also discussed the mechanics of roll-call voting for members participating remotely and confirmed the procedure used for tonight’s vote. No additional public comment was offered on the NEOLA revisions.
The board proceeded to other agenda items after the motion carried.
