Administration said the AMH MOU restores and updates prior collaboration so the hospital can support school health needs during crises—including providing temporary nursing coverage during a recent flu spike—coordinate immunizations at school events, and provide transportation support using the district's bus fleet for evacuations. The document also clarifies indemnification and liability arrangements for the partnership. The board approved the MOU by unanimous voice vote.
The board also approved acceptance of a state Office of Special Education behavior grant for approximately $32,000. Superintendent said the grant is not for hiring personnel but will fund professional development, staff training and evidence‑based curricula to build in‑district capacity to support students with behavioral needs. "We didn't get all that we requested, but pretty close," Superintendent said, describing the grant as targeted to training and resiliency programming rather than payroll.
Both actions were approved 7–0. Administration said it will continue to coordinate with AMH on clinic and immunization logistics and will implement grant-funded training and curriculum with building staff.
