Superintendent (Superintendent) described the work as mostly plumbing and said many areas will be taken down to the slab so crews can access pipes that do not have tunnels for repair.
Board members were presented with two financing steps: approval of the form of the lease agreement and reapproval of the district's building corporation that will serve as the pass‑through entity to enable borrowing above statutory debt limits while keeping the district's property‑tax rate neutral. Counsel Daniel Sheppard said he had reviewed the lease and called it "compliant" and "virtually identical to every lease we've ever signed on a bond issue since I've been here." The board then approved the resolutions and related officer appointments by voice vote.
All formal motions carried without opposition. The board voted to adopt the resolution determining need (motion moved by Joel; seconded by Jill) and later approved the form of lease agreement and the reapproval of the building corporation; each action passed 7–0.
Administration said the 2025 work concentrates on urgent and critical maintenance—plumbing replacement, restroom upgrades, modest electrical panel replacements and isolated structural repairs—while the 2027 scope would address longer corridor and locker‑room renovations. Superintendent emphasized the plan is intended to address the highest‑priority safety and maintenance items and to limit disruption by scheduling much of the physical work during school breaks when feasible.
Next steps include finalizing lease‑bond documents and administrative coordination to schedule summer work and contractor access. The board gave staff authorization to proceed with the financing steps approved at the meeting.
