CES PTO fundraiser and recent donations reported to Clarksville board

Superintendent Dr. Bennett presented a fundraising request and reported donations to the board. The CES PTO is asking to hold a snowball-fight event in the gym during special area classes in December; students would buy faux snowballs (5 for $1 or 12 for $2) to throw at a PTO or staff volunteer, with proceeds earmarked for teacher and student gifts and to support student events and rewards. "Students will be allowed to purchase faux snowballs at 5 snowballs for $1 or 12 snowballs for $2 to throw at a PTO, and or staff volunteer," Dr. Bennett said. He said the request will be brought back next week for approval.
Dr. Bennett also reported donations uploaded to the board portal: a $1,000 bronze-sponsor donation from Shepherd Insurance LLC for staff incentives; CHS received a $500 donation from the alumni association for college-and-career-day lunches on Dec. 4, three books valued at $30 from Rachel Bright for the CHS library, and $100 from Dale and Terry McCurdy for the CHS theater department; and Clarksville Cares payroll and various donations totaled $395.68 for October and November. He said these items would likewise be presented next week for formal approval.
