Superintendent Dr. Bennett presented a timeline for the Clarksville Community School Corp.'s 2026 bond issue, saying the district will post an Open Door Law meeting notice in January and the building corporation’s board will meet Jan. 20 to approve an amendment to the lease and authorize bond issuance. "Beginning in January, we will post the open door law notice meeting for board of directors," he said.
Dr. Bennett said other required actions will take place in March, with a target date to sell bonds in mid-April and close in mid-May. He said the board portal contains a revised copy of the first mortgage bond series 2026 timeline and promised to keep the board updated as the process proceeds: "I'll keep the board updated as we get further in the process." The superintendent framed the Jan. 20 meeting as a critical step to authorize the issuance of bonds by the building corporation.
The board did not take formal action on the bond timeline at this meeting. Dr. Bennett also noted that principals will give semester updates on Dec. 9; those operational briefings were described as separate from the bond schedule and do not affect the bond dates shared.
