District administrators told the board on Aug. 26 that additional federal Title funds will allow the district to meet Title I salary obligations and expand professional development.
Michelle (speaker 12) said the Department of Education notified the district on Aug. 6 that it intended to release remaining Title funds. She gave precise allocations: Title I $432,958.90, Title II $66,262.33 and Title IV $43,712.11. Michelle said the money, combined with carryover funds, will support teacher salaries under Title I and provide additional professional development, including expanded onboarding for I-Ready in reading and math and a planned technology conference covering topics such as artificial intelligence.
On finance, another staff member reported that fiscal year 2025 closed with $481,000 added to undesignated reserves, largely because several positions were unfilled and an anticipated out-of-district special-education placement was not needed. The board also heard that the district had made two bond payments (principal and half the interest) that together totaled roughly $932,000 this cycle.
Administrators cautioned that some program costs may return to local resources in future years if federal funding adjustments occur, but said the current allocations provide breathing room for salary and training commitments this year.
What happens next: staff will proceed with onboarding and professional development plans funded by Title allocations and report back to the board as programs are scheduled.
