Community and school updates: student WinterFest, family nights and civics event invitation

Administrators and student representatives used the meeting to preview upcoming events and programs across Bedford Public Schools and to highlight volunteer and student engagement.
Student council representative Brennan Hebert outlined WinterFest activities, including a lock-in, grade competitions and a pep rally leading to a snowball dance. Deanna Klein, principal at Monroe Road Elementary, reported on diagnostic testing, a new clothing and home-supplies closet at the junior high, reaching-higher leadership programming for fifth graders, and other family events.
During public comment Cynthia Vincent, who identified herself and said she represents Bedford Invisible, thanked the board and administrators for their work, praised student charitable donations to the Goodfellows, and invited the board and families to a nonpartisan League of Women Voters presentation about ballot initiatives next Thursday at the Bedford Library.
Administrators noted professional learning opportunities and mentoring programs across the district; the board thanked staff and volunteers for the programs that support student enrichment.
