Superintendent reports power outage; board approves warrants, trip and appointments

The board approved warrants/rolls of accounts covering amounts of $463,239.48, $7,015.50 and $153,182.09 (total $623,467.07) after a motion and second with no discussion.
Superintendent reported an unplanned power outage the prior Wednesday that forced the high school and junior high to close for the day while the district determined which buildings still had power. "The incoming lines failed, and CMP came over, they quickly took care of that, and we were up and running with power again by 10:30," the superintendent said, noting the district's technology and maintenance teams worked through the day to restore systems.
The board also approved a non‑overnight out‑of‑state girls hockey trip to New Hampshire for a regular-season game in January; the motion to approve was seconded and passed unanimously.
Finally, the board voted to take a half-dozen appointments as a group and accepted resignations as informational items. The appointments were approved unanimously; the superintendent thanked outgoing staff for their service.
Other routine business included approval of the meeting minutes from Sept. 29 and Oct. 15 and the announcement of the next regular meeting on Nov. 17. The meeting adjourned following a routine motion to close.
