Students organize Jan. 20 suicide-prevention basketball fundraiser for KEDA Center

Game times were announced as boys varsity 5:00–6:30 p.m. and girls varsity 6:30–8:00 p.m. Jenna said funds raised will be donated to the KEDA Center (the speaker also variously referred to the organization as Camp KEDA or Camp Kita during discussion). Representatives from local agencies and school guidance staff will be present, and organizers plan a memory wall and donation opportunities. Jenna emphasized students led the effort: "I am super duper proud of the boys and girls team ... being willing to give up their time, and stand up and do something about it."
Jenna also updated the board on 504 plan caseloads: approximately 40 active 504 plans at the high school, 23 at the middle school, 22 at the elementary school and five at the primary school, with referrals incoming. The board discussed logistical details and community support for the event.
