SACO, Maine — The Saco School Board took several formal actions at its Oct. 22 meeting, approving minutes, stipend contracts and a package of policy second readings. All recorded roll-call votes passed unanimously, 7-0.
Minutes: The board approved the Oct. 8, 2025 meeting minutes after a motion by School Board Member Truman and a second by School Board Member Johnston; the roll-call vote recorded seven yes votes.
Stipend contracts: School Board Member Truman moved to approve the listed stipend appointments and issue stipend contracts for the 2025–26 school year; a second was recorded and the roll-call vote passed 7-0.
Policy second readings: School Board Member Johnston moved to approve the second reading of several policies, including student attendance (JEA), use of physical restraint and seclusion and related procedures (JKA/JKA‑R), weapons/violence and school safety (JICIA), administration of medication (JLCD) and school board legal status (DB). After brief discussion of training and annual refreshers for staff on restraint procedures, the motion was seconded and carried 7-0.
The board adjourned at 6:00 p.m. with a final unanimous roll-call to end the meeting.
