Yuhan reviewed the outreach materials the district distributed in 2019 (maps, Q&A, finance projections) and said the district’s current financing landscape differs from 2019 because inflation has eroded purchasing power. He noted that, on a per‑student basis and holding student counts constant, the district has roughly $3,000,000 less in buying power than a school board had in 2000 — an example intended to give context to long-term fiscal comparisons. Yuhan also reviewed anticipated contributions from state and IRRR (described at the meeting as an I‑level funding stream) and said local taxpayers paid less than originally projected in 2019 due to favorable bond rates and interest.
He recommended the board hold the community meetings and then run a survey to collect representative feedback. Board members asked for a preparatory working session so they could provide consistent answers to likely public questions; Yuhan said he would lead most of the community meetings and requested the board decide by the last meeting in October if it wanted to proceed.
The board did not vote on formal action during the presentation; members agreed follow-up work and a possible working session would be useful before any outreach begins.
