"Preliminary estimates were about $350,000 to replace that flooring system," a facilities representative told the board, and consultants said manufacturer warranty coverage is unlikely if the installation was improper. The committee recommended less‑intrusive moisture testing of the concrete substrate first, and limited, targeted repairs for areas that present trip hazards rather than a full immediate replacement.
Staff said the district plans an on‑site meeting with Tremco and Blackhawk Roofing to clarify schedules and draw timelines for the roofing project, and cautioned that intrusive core borings and legal claims would be costly. Committee members emphasized they would exhaust less expensive diagnostics before pursuing destructive tests or litigation.
The board asked for continued updates while staff pursue moisture testing and contractor meetings; no full replacement decision was made at the meeting.
