Parents push David City board for bigger gym and improved security cameras

Scott Stager, introduced by the chair as the next public commenter, said he supported the call for more space and also urged the district to install higher-quality video cameras around the school — outside and in hallways — to improve student safety and help mitigate recurring incidents. He said such upgrades could reduce liability and help staff monitor trouble spots.
Why it matters: Both commenters framed their requests as safety and program-growth issues. Additional gym space would affect scheduling, tournament hosting and program capacity; improved surveillance infrastructure would carry costs and policy questions about placement and privacy.
