Superintendent highlights school construction, curriculum and student programs

"It's amazing," the superintendent said of the new BEW conference and multipurpose spaces.
A principal reporting on primary-school programs described two successful summer-school sessions for kindergarten through third grade, expanded social-emotional learning and STEM activities, and a planned partnership with the YMCA to run an after-school program that will require an additional exterior exit before it can start. The principal also described a new bike unit supported by local donations and two therapy dogs on site, which staff said students are enjoying.
Board members appreciated the reports and asked a few clarifying questions about construction timelines and student supports; administrators said they expect remaining construction items to be completed in the coming weeks and that further updates will be provided at future meetings.
