Bradford administrators report roofing and solar progress, recommend architect for fieldhouse

"They're getting close," the administrator said about the roofing contractor, noting crews had finished auditorium fixes and the team would begin solar racking shortly after the roof is ready. The district expects a relatively quick turnaround from roof completion to solar installation to secure available rebates.
Administrators also said they are recommending an architect for the planned Fieldhouse Multipurpose Building and have met with the firm several times to finalize contract questions. The board moved to recommend hiring that architect and later approved recommended construction claims/contracts for the Fieldhouse project.
Construction updates included a report that Shoreline repaired damage in the auditorium over winter break. The administration recommended that a listed firm (named in the packet) handle claims for the fieldhouse; the board moved and approved that recommendation on roll call.
Administrators noted the solar project could substantially reduce utility costs: "we may be able to cover utility usage in half with this," one speaker said, framing the project as a potential long-term saving that could redirect funds to student needs.
Board members voted to approve the recommended construction engagements and moved the meeting forward to other business before later entering executive session.
