The Bradford Exempted Village Board of Education on Jan. 7 approved a slate of routine organizational motions for calendar year 2026, including establishing a $6,000 board service fund and reauthorizing the treasurer and superintendent to carry out standard fiscal and administrative duties.
The board, led by the chair, moved and approved the service fund at $6,000. On the motion to authorize the treasurer to perform the district’s normal fiscal functions for 2026, members asked no substantive questions and voted to approve. The board likewise approved a motion granting the superintendent the routine administrative authorities listed on the agenda for the coming year.
The meeting also addressed representative appointments for the year: delegates and alternates to Ohio School Boards Association activities and other committee assignments were discussed, with members volunteering to serve on student-achievement and athletic-related liaisons. The board approved a list of appointments and formed a council to support athletic participation with quarterly meetings.
Votes on the organizational items were conducted by roll call; board members recorded affirmative responses when the chair called the roll. The organizational portion of the meeting was then formally adjourned and the board proceeded to its regular business.
Board members noted logistics for the year’s meeting calendar and confirmed a regular start time of 6:30 p.m.; calendar invites were to be distributed to members.
The board moved into executive session later in the meeting for a listed agenda item and announced there would be no voting or action following the executive session.
