Miller said the district surveyed students and found most feel welcomed but a small share did not feel connected. "Out of 100 students, maybe 4 students" still reported low connection, she said, and described a series of pilot steps — adding clubs or activity blocks, reviewing test results and expanding successful efforts — that the district used to improve students’ feelings of inclusion.
Speaking directly about her service, Miller said she felt "just going back to gratitude" and thanked colleagues and the community for the opportunity to serve. She said she will miss her role on the board but is "looking forward to just being a parent." The Chair and other members praised her devotion and leadership at the meeting.
Separately, a board member reported that classroom tables have been ordered and should arrive soon, allowing room moves and furniture setup to finish.
