The Berkshire Local board approved a slate of routine business items during its February meeting, including minutes from prior sessions, donations, personnel actions, contracts, and overnight athletic trips.
The treasurer asked the board to accept donations that included $24,381 from the Schlink Foundation (Little Annie’s Hope Train), $50 from Katherine Mcranahan for school lunches, $500 from the Rotary Club of Burton and Middlefield for girls wrestling, and contributions from Preston Superstore and Ford Motor Company that administration said, combined with prior gifts, brought the total donations to $833,079. The board moved, seconded and voted to accept the donations.
Trustees also approved listed financial amendments, certified and classified personnel recommendations, volunteer appointments, and several contracts as attached to the superintendent’s packet. The board voted to continue membership in the Ohio High School Athletic Association for the 2026–27 school year and approved overnight spring‑break trips for softball (Pigeon Forge) and baseball (Myrtle Beach).
All routine motions were seconded and passed by roll call without recorded dissents at this meeting.
