Second-graders demonstrate Go Math curriculum as district highlights redesigned classrooms

Miss Gonzales described classroom uses of Math on the Spot videos, digital practice tools such as Waggle and group/solo learning areas built into redesigned classrooms. Student participants explained how Go Math uses pictures and models to make math easier; one student said, "Go Math helps us learn by showing us pictures and models. It makes the math easier to understand and fun." The class completed a counting exercise together (eight apples plus seven more equals 15) to illustrate problem-solving and group work.
Principal Iacono and Superintendent Dr. Caracas praised the students and teachers for classroom work and the technology team for assembling the presentation video. The superintendent emphasized that the redesigned classrooms were created with student feedback and that student council representatives had been active in the redesign process.
The presentation concluded with applause from the board. The superintendent noted the district will continue to gather student feedback as part of ongoing Vision 2030 classroom implementations.
