During the meeting the Conestoga Valley School District board approved several routine items on voice vote and prepared others for the consent agenda.
A resolution appointing the Lancaster County Tax Collection Bureau to collect the district’s real estate taxes (a relationship in place since 2017) was moved, seconded and approved by voice vote. The board also reappointed the board treasurer for a one-year term and the board secretary for a four-year term as required under Pennsylvania school code; those appointments were approved by voice vote.
Staff reported nine student-athletes had qualified for district competition and described an overnight travel plan (depart Friday, May 16; return Saturday) with lodging/meals included; the board approved the overnight athletic trips by motion and voice vote and wished the students luck.
Other consent items staff asked to place on next week’s consent agenda included the Lancaster-Lebanon Joint Authority term-extension request (extending the authority to 2075), the Brightbill Transportation contract (to be reviewed) and the amusement-tax accounting summary (maximum annual collection cap of $348,867 and refund rules when collections exceed the cap).
